Day 1:
The first day usually starts with a pick-up from your hotel in the nearby town of Moni. From there, you will drive to Kelimutu National Park and begin your hike to the summit of Kelimutu volcano. The hike usually takes around 2-3 hours and can be challenging, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the three volcanic lakes and the surrounding landscape. The colors of the lakes change depending on the time of day and the season, so make sure to take plenty of photos!
After descending from the summit, you will have the opportunity to explore the nearby village of Moni and learn about the local culture and traditions. You may also have the chance to visit some of the nearby waterfalls, such as the Detusoko or Wologai waterfalls.
Day 2:
On the second day, you will have the opportunity to explore some of the other attractions in the area, such as the traditional villages of Bena and Luba. These villages are known for their unique architecture, which features tall thatched-roof houses and intricately-carved wooden pillars. You will also have the chance to interact with the local people and learn about their way of life.
After visiting the villages, you will return to Moni for lunch before heading back to your hotel or continuing on with your travels.
